District Conference

First team adventure or "Torquay Talkie" - sorry, I know that's poor!

sunny

Our first team presentation has now been and gone following our slot at yesterday's District 1090 Conference to around 900(?) people! Despite being nerve-wracking, the audience were fantastic and we were so grateful to everyone who stopped us throughout the day afterwards to congratulate us and wish us well. Everybody was very supportive and lots of folk have offered us tips on places not to be missed on our trip to BC!

The best bit has to have been seeing Marius looking so pleased, given all the time he's invested in us in training- thanks Marius - glad we didn't let you down!

A special award has to go to Sally this weekend for managing to soldier through illness and not having eaten for 3 days and still get on stage and give her fantastic speech, as well as making it to the afternoon rally! Full marks for dedication to the cause!

As well as being a great opportunity to get to know folk from District 1090 whom we'll be representing on our travels it was also a great opportunity to get to our counterpart GSE team from BC: The Don, Jenny, Sladjana, Nick and Rich. Despite still recovering from jet lag and an exciting but exhausting first week they were quite an act to follow on stage and were great company!

Hopefully we'll catch up with them some more over the next few weeks ahead of the farewell rally.

Thanks to everyone for their parts in this weekend.

Just 34 days and one more training session to go now. We're entering the final countdown...
